How to Choose the Correct Size Dog Carrier
One of the most popular questions I get is how to choose the correct sized dog carrier.
Below are some questions to ask yourself before looking for a dog carrier:
- What does your dog weigh?
- If still a puppy, what will it weigh when full grown? What did its parents weigh?
- What is the length of your dog? Take a measurement from their tip of their nose to the base of their tail.
- What do you want to use this carrier for?
Dog Weight:
Most dog carriers are good for dogs up to 12 pounds. After that, you may want to think if you really want to be carrying around a 12 pound plus dog. If so, I would look into a wheeled dog carrier or another type of carrier besides one that hangs on your shoulder. The weight on every carrier is different, so please check. If it does not say in the description, don't be afraid to ask. If you have a very tiny dog, such as a dog less than 4 pounds, you should be able to choose any dog carrier there is.
Dog Length:
It is important to give your dog enough room to move and feel comfortable in the carrier. But at the same time you don't want it to be too large that every time they move, they are tilting and off-setting the carrier. The best thing to do is measure your dog and add a few inches to get the correct size dog carrier. If the carrier you are interested in has a place where the head sticks out, you will not need as big of a carrier than if you were picking a carrier that is enclosed.
Carrier Purpose:
Are you looking for a carrier to just take your dog to the veterinarian's office or are you looking for a carrier to take your dog into stores with you? The purpose of your carrier will affect the price that you have to pay. If you are looking for a simpler carrier that can show your dog you will be able to find many lower cost options. If you are looking for a dog carrier that will hide your dog you will be spending more money. This is due to the extra materials needed to make it more like a purse than a carrier.

Why are people telling me its my fault but not telling me why?
Hello,
I am wanting to get a female chi to spoil and dress in cute pink clothes but i am wondering if they make good pets or if they are annoying?
I had a female pomeranian awhile back and she was house trained but one day started peeing on things like if there was a pile of clothes or a towl on the floor she would pee on it and if there wasn't she would go pee on my bed. I started taking her our every half hour jsut cause i thought maybe she had to go more often for some reason and i would stand outside with her for an hour she would poo but not pee and then as soon as we got inside she would go pee on something, it got bad and i couldnt' keep her cause of it. I am just wondering if that was just her or will all small female dogs do that?
What did i do wrong? The pom was 2 years old when i adopted her and i got her spayed when i adopted her, i have no idea what happened to her before then, but for the first 6 months she was great went outside never had an accedent and i took her out everytime she went to the door. Then all the sudden one day she started peeing on everything. How is that my fault?
If your not supposed to put the dog clothes on the dogs then why are the clothes made? I dont' understand whats wrong with putting outfits that are made for dogs on the dogs occasionally especially a sweater at least when she goes outside to go potty in the winter!
Ok, i guess when i say spoil it means something completely different then i mean it. I just mean that i will be spending a lot of time with her training and playing with her not just leaving her in a crate to be looked at and petted when wanted and then put back like i have seen some people do. So i guess i just mean i wan't to properly take care of her. And i am doing research that is what this question is about i am trying to get opinions on training and raising techniques from other pet owners. I am also looking online at websites. I am not getting a dog yet, just thinking about it. I got the pom when she was 2 years old she was a rescue from a BYB and i got her spayed and had her for 6 months before she started misbehaving and i did everything i could i did take her to a vet they said there was nothing wrong with her, i took her to behavor classes and kept trying to re-potty train her for another year! I couldn't keep doing it so i found another person who continued working

Do you think its okay to dress dogs up?
I may be getting a maltese around christmas. Where I live, it is usually pretty cold in the winter and warm in the summer. If I get a maltese, I will probably keep his/her hair cut short because it is a bit easier to groom than longer hair. Do you think it is acceptable to dress the dog up in sweaters or jackets? Some people think its poor dog owning if you do this but if the dog has short hair and you want to keep the pup warm do you think its acceptable?
Please leave your opinion and dog names for a girl or boy maltese/
Leave links for websites that sell cute dog clothes if you would like!
