Dogs winter coat?
My dog, a chow/lab is 5 and this year her coat is the thinnest it has ever been. She usually has a real 'flag' for a tail and it is not that way at all. She is in good health and eats good food and eats well, sees the vet. all the time so I did not understand. Live in Missouri.

Dogs winter coat.............?
My dog is shedding his winter coat, and the hair is driving my mom crazy. He is mostly in the living room/laundry room/and sometimes in the kitchen. The hair doesn't really bother me. But she won't let him sleep in my room(He sleeps with our other dog in a baby-gated laundry room) I brush him a lot, but only bathe him every now and then. He is terrified of water and I usually end up just as wet as him. I was just wondering, if there was an effective(and inexpensive way) to remove the fur?
Also, are there any ways that you can think of that I could use to try to convince her and my dad to let my dog sleep in my room? I would buy a portable soft crate to put in my room, but he is almost 13 years old. And no one needs a babysitter/pet sitter :) haha
P.S. I already tried the "All dogs shed" speech on her. She fired back the "Poodles don't shed" (My mom has a poodle that is her dog, and the rat doesn't really like the rest of us, the feeling is mutal)
If it helps, Tucker(my dog) looks like a border collie/lab cross. He is truely the All-American Mutt. So I have no idea what his breed is. But his coat is short and wiry, it's seems to be about a medium thickness.
Thanks in Advance :)
